This Website Policy explains how Clarity Communication Advisors Inc., doing business as Clarity Voice ("Clarity," "we," or "us"), uses cookies and similar technologies on clarityvoice.com and any other website we operate that links to this policy (together, the "Site"). It covers the Site only. It does not cover the Clarity Portal, our mobile apps, or the communications services our customers use. Those are covered by our Privacy Policy and the agreements that govern the services.
Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information generally. This Website Policy is the place to come for how the Site itself remembers you.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer or phone when you visit. It lets the site recognize your browser on later visits or as you move between pages. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are "first-party" cookies. Cookies set by another company whose content or code appears on the site are "third-party" cookies. Cookies that expire when you close your browser are "session" cookies. Cookies that stay until a set date, or until you delete them, are "persistent" cookies.
Similar technologies do the same kind of job. Web beacons, also called pixels, are tiny images or scripts that tell a server a page was viewed. Browser storage, meaning local storage and session storage, holds small amounts of information inside your browser. When this policy says "cookies," it means all of these.
How we use cookies
We use cookies for four things:
- To keep the Site working: remembering your cookie choice, remembering the industry you told us you are in so we can show you the right pages, and running the contact forms and live chat you choose to use.
- To understand how the Site is used: which pages people visit, how they arrive here, and which pages lead them to reach out to us. We use this to make the Site better and to follow up well when a visitor asks to hear from us.
- To recognize you if you have already asked to hear from us: when you fill out a form on the Site, or return after doing so, we can connect your visit to the request you made and follow up in a way that fits.
- To measure our own advertising: with your okay, we learn whether our ads on Facebook and Instagram lead people to the Site, and we can show our ads there to people who have visited.
We do not show third-party ads on the Site, and we do not sell personal information collected through cookies.
The cookies we use
Essential and preference cookies
These cookies make the Site work and honor the choices you make on it. They are set whether you accept or decline on our cookie banner, because the Site cannot remember your answer, or the industry you picked, without them. You can delete or block them in your browser settings, but the Site will then ask for your cookie choice again on each visit and will not remember your industry.
- clarity_consent: remembers whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies, so we do not ask again on every page. First-party. Persists for 12 months.
- clarity_industry: remembers the industry you picked, such as pizzerias or auto dealerships, so the Site shows you the pages written for it. First-party. Persists for 12 months and is renewed on each visit.
- clarity_industry_redirected: keeps the Site from sending you to your industry page more than once in a single visit. First-party. Session cookie.
- isChatLoaded: browser session storage rather than a cookie. Tells the Site that the live chat launcher has already loaded once this visit so it does not reload on every page. Cleared when you close the tab.
Contact forms and live chat
The contact and application forms on the Site, including those on our Contact, Franchise Partnership, and Careers pages, are delivered by our marketing platform, Constant Contact Lead Gen & CRM (formerly SharpSpring). A form loads only on the page where it appears, because visiting that page is how you told us you want to reach us. When a form loads, the vendor may set the cookies described in the next section so that your submission can be matched to your visit.
Live chat is provided by EngageCX, Clarity's own messaging platform, from engagecx.clarityvoice.com. The chat launcher loads on every page so you can reach a person at any time. It sets no marketing cookie, and nothing you type is sent until you open the chat window and start a conversation. Once a conversation starts, EngageCX may store a session identifier in your browser so the conversation continues as you move between pages.
Analytics and marketing cookies
With your okay, we use Constant Contact Lead Gen & CRM (formerly SharpSpring) to understand which pages bring people to the Site and to connect a visit with a request to hear from us. When you choose Accept on our cookie banner, a small tracking script loads from the vendor's domain, marketingautomation.services, and records the pages you view. If you have filled out one of our forms, the vendor links those page views to the contact record you created, so the person who follows up with you knows what you were looking at. If you decline, or have not yet chosen, this script does not load and no page views are recorded.
The vendor's tracking code and forms set these cookies:
- koitk: identifies your browser across visits so page views can be connected to one visitor. Persistent; the vendor sets it to last for several years unless you delete it.
- __ss: identifies your current browsing session. Session cookie.
- __ss_tk: identifies your browser for form and visit tracking. Persistent.
- __ss_referrer: records the website or search that brought you to the Site. Short-lived; expires within hours.
Cookie names and lifetimes are set by the vendor and may change. The vendor's own cookie notice is published at constantcontact.com/legal/cookie-notice.
With your okay, we also use Google Analytics to see how visitors use the Site as a whole: which pages are viewed, how people arrive, and how long they stay. Google Analytics is loaded through Google Tag Manager, a Google tool that loads tags on the Site and sets no cookies of its own. Both load only after you choose Accept. If you decline, or have not yet chosen, neither loads. Google Analytics sets these cookies:
- _ga: distinguishes one visitor from another so visits can be counted. First-party. Persists for up to 2 years.
- _ga_RQ0KYY3M76: keeps track of your current visit for the same purpose. First-party. Persists for up to 2 years.
Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Advertising cookies
With your okay, we use the Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., to measure our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. When you choose Accept, a script loads from connect.facebook.net and tells Meta which pages of the Site you view. Meta can use that to show whether our ads brought people to the Site and to show our ads to people who have visited. If you decline, have not yet chosen, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the Meta Pixel does not load. It sets these cookies:
- _fbp: identifies your browser so Meta can connect visits to the Site with our ads. First-party. Persists for 90 days.
- _fbc: records that you arrived by clicking one of our ads on Facebook or Instagram. Set only when you arrive from an ad. First-party. Persists for 90 days.
Meta explains how it uses this information at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
Hosting
The Site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, to keep the Site secure and available. Those logs are not cookies and are covered by our Privacy Policy.
Embedded content from other sites
Some pages include content hosted by other companies: job postings on our Careers page delivered by Hireology, and videos in our Insights articles delivered by YouTube or Vimeo. When a page with embedded content loads, that company may set its own cookies and collect information about your visit under its own privacy and cookie policies, which we do not control. You can review those policies on each company's website.
Your choices
- Cookie banner. The first time you visit, a banner at the bottom of the page asks you to Accept or Decline. Decline, and the Site still works in full, including the contact forms and live chat. Only the analytics, marketing, and advertising cookies described above are held back.
- Change your mind. Under "Your cookie choice" at the bottom of this page, choose Change your choice to bring the banner back and answer again. Switching from Accept to Decline stops the Site from recording further page views. It does not delete cookies the vendor has already set; you can remove those in your browser settings.
- Browser settings. Every major browser lets you see, delete, and block cookies, either for all sites or for particular ones. Your browser's help pages explain how. Blocking all cookies will keep the Site from remembering your cookie choice and your industry.
- Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the Site treats it as an opt-out of advertising cookies: the Meta Pixel does not load, even if you choose Accept. We do not sell personal information. The Site does not respond to Do Not Track signals; the cookie banner is the control for the other non-essential cookies on the Site.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Website Policy when the Site or the tools behind it change. The effective date at the top tells you when it was last revised. If a change is material, we will say so on the Site.
